Electrify America and the City of Sacramento announced new projects that will increase access to zero-emissions vehicles (ZEV) in the Sacramento region, expand ZEV technology use, and prepare the City for future electric vehicle adoption. GIG Car Share will initially launch with 260 vehicles. mile “Home Zone.”

(EDI), a producer of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and continuously variable transmission (CVT) solutions ( earlier post ), is partnering with Greenkraft , CALSTART, and the California Energy Commission (CEC) to develop a Class-4 vehicle that combines the benefits of compressed natural gas (CNG) and PHEV technology.

A public station with charging ports for more types of Electric Vehicles (EVs) than anything before it opened Saturday in Woodland, CA near Sacramento. Teslas, RAV4 EVs, Ford Rangers, Neighborhood Electric Vehicles, even EV conversions can be charged at the six-port station, in the parking lot of the new Woodland Gateway Shopping Center.

Bright Automotive, which spun out of the Rocky Mountain Institute in January, is building a plug-in hybrid vehicle that will get 100 miles a gallon (see Green Lightpost). Waters wouldn’t provide a lot of details on the vehicle.
