That’s not surprising—the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the company’s only previous plug-in hybrid, is a well-executed PHEV with an EPA-rated 32 miles of usable electric range that retains all the virtues of the Pacifica minivan. How about a lease cost of $265 per month, with $3,940 due at signing? The two couldn’t be more different.

The basic equation governing the charging of batteries is W = V * A, or to put it into words, Watts equals Volts times Amps. Chrysler used this for their EPIC Minivan and could charge at a rate of about one mile per minute. The cost of putting these on major freeways would be very high but the technology already exists.

There are likely many benefits to home charging that ought to make this the most popular option and here well cover the three "c"s: convenience, cost, and carbon-control. If cost is an important consideration, than charging your EV at home is a no-brainer as it cuts out any profit-hungry middlemen. Battery swapping has its critics.
