Mild hybrids, which are typically found in 48 volt electric systems, do not require a plug to operate. Maruti Suzuki introduced mild hybrids in India in 2015 with the launch of the Ciaz diesel with SHVS.

Most rechargeable cylindrical cells use a chemistry with a nominal voltage around 3.7 volts, full charge voltage (100% charged) is 4.2 volts and fully discharged voltage (0% charge remaining) is 3.0 Here is a Wikipedia entry for these cells. Generally for batteries with nominal voltage of 3.7

A chemist and government researcher, Wang raised some $300,000 from relatives, rented about 2,000 square meters of space, and set out to manufacture rechargeable batteries to compete with imports from Sony and Sanyo. Today BYD employs 130,000 people in 11 factories, eight in China and one each in India, Hungary, and Romania.

The G-Wiz, made in India, now offers a lithium-ion battery option that extendsits driving range from 48 to 75 miles – but doubles the price. The smallfour-seater Mitsubishi iMiEV uses lithium-ion but is likely to cost up to£20,000 when it becomes available here later this year.
