36/48 volt. I am leaning towards a golf cart or forklift motor. This is a 24 volt system, and made for flat, hard surfaces. All the Golf cart motors I have been finding on the net are either 10 or 19 spline. But the cost of a motor and controller is going to be the biggest expense. Golf cart motor ?

Chevy Volt and Navistar E-star are visible in the background. New York City is adding 70 electric vehicles to its fleet: 50 new Chevrolet Volts, 10 fully electric Ford Transit Connect cargo vans, and 10 new fully electric Navistar E-star utility trucks. The Chevrolet Volt is the first electric car being used by the NYPD.

The MiEV runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged in seven or so hours on a 240-volt line. The Chevy Volt is going to count on an overnight charge from a standard wall outlet. There are choices for 110 volt versus 220 volt, slow versus quick charges, and solar options. By 2011 look for a larger THINK Ox.

And, if you consider lifetime costs of owning an EV versus owning a traditional internal combustion car, even if the initial purchase price of the EV is much more than your combustion car and you have to replace a battery for $4,000 after 7-10 years, the EV still costs less to operate. nk Related Posts From Green Inc.
