American Honda Motor has introduced a Class 8 hybrid diesel electric truck into its truck fleet at its parts center in Alpharetta, Ga—the first such in the auto industry. Honda uses Class 8 trucks to transport service parts between its parts centers and dealerships. Testing and evaluation will take place over the next year.

Peterbilt Motors Company (Denton, Texas), is awarded $884,000 for 34 natural gas vehicles in the 26,001 pounds and greater gross vehicle weight category. Peterbilt is the original equipment manufacturer of the trucks. The dealership’s total reservation amount is $884,000 for buses manufactured by the Blue Bird Corporation.
