The Korean carmaker has revealed its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) future strategy at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Phase one will see the introduction of the Kia PV5, a versatile EV optimised for domains such as hailing, delivery and utilities that features conversion capability for diverse customer needs.

Let’s consider a simple example, say an EV conversion that has a 120V pack and a range of around 30 miles. Personally I think that we don’t need to charge the car even in 10 minutes. I like to use the example of someone driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. I have never been a big fan of battery swapping.
