Mazda Motor Corporation unveiled the all-new Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV. Mazda announced it will offer the SKYACTIV-D diesel in North America from the second half of 2017. The fully redesigned model, on display at AutoMobility LA, will be launched in Japan in February before being rolled out to global markets.

Mazda CX-7 equipped with a MZR-CD 2.2-liter Mazda Motor Corporation will exhibit freshened CX-7 SUVs with European specifications at the 63 rd Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be held from 15-27 September. Newly added to the updated CX-7 lineup—and to be exhibited at the Frankfurt Show—is a version powered by Mazda’s MZR-CD 2.2

Not to be outdone by its Japanese rivals, Mazda will lead the way in a new project aimed at testing a low carbon transport system that uses clean energy. Mazda has adopted a policy aimed at improving its internal combustion engines and then combine them with electric devices.

Makers who have a corporate average below the limit will gain credits, those who exceed the limit will have to either buy credits from other brands or pay fines. A Mazda CX-5 2WD, for example, emits 161g/km of CO2 so would be up for $1300 in penalties, while the all-wheel drive version emits 175g/km so would cop $3400 in fines.

Mazda Ford Partner was reported to be developing Series PHEV based on Mazda 5 MPV platform. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs.
