BMW to introduce BMW 530e iPerformance plug-in hybrid at Detroit show

BMW will stage the world premiere of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan and the US premiere of the BMW Concept X2 at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January in Detroit. The combination of motor and engine keeps the CO 2 emissions of the BMW 530e iPerformance very low at just 44 g/km (NEDC).

Together with the soon-to-be-launched BMW X5 xDrive40e ( earlier post ) also on display at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the BMW eDrive technology initially developed for BMW i cars will be available for BMW models spanning four different vehicle segments in 2016. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 6.7 Motor (kW).
