EEA: Fuel efficiency improvements of new cars in Europe slowed in 2016

In comparison with 2015, the average mass of new cars sold in 2016 in the EU increased slightly to reach 1,388 kg. The increase affected the average mass of gasoline vehicles (by 1.5%) in particular, which in turn resulted in smaller decrease of average emissions of these vehicles and, consequently, of new passenger car fleet in 2016.
