Sapphire Energy has entered into a commercial agreement with Tesoro Refining and Marketing Company, LLC, a subsidiary of Tesoro Corporation. This begins the first step of a commercial relationship to process Green Crude oil from Sapphire’s future commercial facilities.

The biomass-to-cellulosic fuel technology platform combines KiOR’s proprietary catalyst systems with FCC processes that have been used in crude oil refineries to produce gasoline for more than 60 years. The crude oil proceeds to the hydrotreating unit to be refined into gasoline, diesel and fuel oil. —KiOR 10-K.

developer of a catalytic pyrolysis process to produce renewable oil from biomass ( earlier post ), has signed an offtake agreement with Hunt Refining Company, which has agreed to purchase renewable gasoline and diesel blendstocks and fuel oil produced at KiOR’s first commercial facility to be located in Columbus, MS.
