Jeroen Perk, who lives in the Netherlands, lost his sight almost completely by the age of 19. They couldn’t tell the difference between a bright day at the beach and being in a coal mine in Pittsburgh. Still, for many, it was worth it. In 2013, at the age of 36, Perk became one of the youngest people to receive an Argus II.
