That being said, even a car that derives its energy from coal power plants would be far more clean. Having centralized energy production in that way allows for centralized pollution control measures, filters, so-called "clean coal" rather than depending on X number of cars, manufacturers, and consumers to deal with pollution control.

Even if you charge your EV with electricity made from coal fired generators you reduce your car’s pollution by half. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal. Posted by: Nido Info | Apr 14, 2009 12:45:31 PM wrong Howard. If our country is going to spend money like a drunk sailor we should have spent it on building renewable energy power plants like Wind and Geothermal.
