The new Mitsubishi Triton is joining the petrol-electric plug-in hybrid rush alongside the 2024 BYD ute and 2025 Ford Ranger PHEV. Mitsubishi does plug-in hybrids (like in the Outlander ), Toyota does conventional hybrids (like the RAV4 ), and Nissan does e-Power. And that means it’s not cheap. The result is a family focused SUV that genuinely falls into the fun-to-drive camp. It is, however, a very convincing take on a more efficient ICE SUV.

I say apparently as a PR person with Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, stated the following to me in a January 18 email: I can tell you that it is true, we were the best selling plug-in hybrid SUV last year in the US. credit off the the cap cost makes it a real cheap lease on 53k Jeep.
