A regional interdisciplinary team led by Montana State University has received $6 million from the National Science Foundation to address questions about whether biofuels and carbon capture technologies can be sustainably introduced into the Upper Missouri River Basin.

Researchers at the University of Missouri led by Prof. Lithium-ion batteries use large amounts of graphite in the negative electrode which forms a carbon cage around lithium ions (referred to as intercalation) and reduces the activity of lithium to the extent that dendrite crystals do not form.
