Electric vehicle sales in the US continue to see a significant uptick, with EV (BEV and PHEV) share of new light passenger vehicles (LPVs) reaching 7.05% in Q2 of 2022. And in the chart below you can see that the quarter over quarter increase in sales share for both BEVs and PHEVs was roughly 13%. This is a 0.81

OK, well if you drive an EV in West Virginia it is true, as that state produces roughly 94% of its electricity from coal power plants. But the problem with an example like that is that in 2020, West Virginia only accounted for 0.1% Said another way, residents of California purchased 390.9 of US EV sales in 2020.

Six of the seventeen EcoCAR teams, including Georgia Tech, Howard University, Michigan Tech University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Texas Tech, and West Virginia University, have designed Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles which are constructed with a large lithium-ion battery.
