Fusion Fuel and Electus Energy have entered into an exclusive joint venture agreement to develop a large-scale green hydrogen project in Bakersfield, California. The companies have already entered into a land-lease agreement to secure 320 acres in Kern County, California for the project’s development.

Ford Motor Company will offer three years of complimentary charging to California and Maryland customers who purchase or lease a 2016 C-MAX Energi with its pilot EV 1-2-3 Charge program. C-MAX Energi originally went on sale in late 2012, and was joined by its sedan sibling, the Fusion Energi, in February 2013.

Since 2009, 38% of Ford’s growth has come from vehicles in this super segment, which includes Fiesta, Focus, Fusion and Escape. Ford expects more growth in the super segment, as baby boomers continue to downsize their vehicle purchases and first-time millennial buyers enter the market.

A study by researchers at the Institute of Transportation Studies, UC Davis finds that buyers of plug-in vehicles (PEVs) are substantially less satisfied with the dealer purchase experience than buyers of conventional vehicles—with the notable exception of Tesla buyers. In some cases, dealers outright discouraged PEV purchases.

The first 67 certified dealers were in California, New York and New Jersey and have been selling the Focus Electric since spring. By early 2013, Focus Electric and C-MAX Energi will be joined by Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid. Each showroom will have point-of-purchase display materials including digital assets and window signage.

A 22-year old man told The Guardian that while his Tesla has been one of the best things he’s purchased, he does experience road rage a lot. “I It’s happened to me twice going at 65 mph, and it’s scary,” Ramsdell said.
