California’s plug-in vehicle sales tally is impressive: 663,014 battery electrics (62.9%). The California mix for 2021 was interesting, with many of a few vehicles and a few of many. The California ZEV program supports three broad statewide policy goals: reduce criteria pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions; reduce gasoline and diesel fuel demand; and maintain leadership in environmental technology policy and foster job growth. to 4% of sales, and for Phase VI (2022–2025) a target increasing from 5% to 8% of sales.

According to SupChina.com , the 10 largest EV producers in China based on domestic sales are: Tesla BYD SAIC Motor SAIC Volkswagen SAIC-GM-Wuling NIO Xpeng Li Auto WM Motor Geely. BYD already sells electric buses in the US though its bus division, but they are also made in California in a factory employing 750 unionized workers.

More than 12 million minivan sales later, Chrysler today showed off four all-electric Chrysler Town & Country minivan concepts to the U.S. market share, the third-largest nameplate in Canada, unsurpassed 25 highway mile per gallon fuel economy and sales in more than 80 countries. Oh, and the whole electric thing is good too.
