We Promote PHEV Conversion Programs: First CalCars in 2004, then a number of aftermarket companies, have converted over 200 cars — at first most were for fleets, but more and more are going to individual owners. We will have similar solutions available for better (but more expensive) nickel-metal hydride or lithium-ion batteries.)

We now have three working converted prototypes (both described in Fact Sheet above, shown in photos and here ): The Calcars first proof-of-concept: (100+ mpg plus electricity, 10-mile electric range, now with temporary lead-acid battery pack, soon to be replaced by nickel metal-hydride batteries). That’s certainly the case here in Torrance, California where I live and work. We’ve now got some Mo going with: California solar loan financing that will eliminate the big up front cost of solar. Most have no idea. The good news is that positive things ARE happening and our efforts are starting to make a difference.

Plans "large demonstration fleet" late 2009. Establishing dealer network. Ford Escape PHEV-40 around 2012. Batteries not ready.
