In the parallel hybrid system the electric motor can power the car by itself, the gas engine can power the car by itself or they can power the car together. Advanced Do It Yourself/EAA-PHEV www.priusplus.org : CalCars and the Electric Auto Associations PHEV group created this open-source project to bring PHEV conversions to 04-08 Prius owners across the country. We will have similar solutions available for better (but more expensive) nickel-metal hydride or lithium-ion batteries.)

That’s certainly the case here in Torrance, California where I live and work. We’ve now got some Mo going with: California solar loan financing that will eliminate the big up front cost of solar. Most have no idea. The good news is that positive things ARE happening and our efforts are starting to make a difference.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Shifted earlier focus to all-electric Focus in 2011 with Magna. Focusing on all-electric, Nissan-Renault partnership with Better Place for EVs.
