The case for using Power-to-Gas solutions to store renewable energy is compelling for a number of important use cases, according to a new white paper released by the California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC). Among the paper’s conclusions is that a robust P2G RD&D program should be a priority for the state of California.

In a recent vote, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) authorized Southern California Edison (SCE) to procure between 1,400 and 1,800 megawatts (MW) of electrical capacity in the Los Angeles basin.
