Hailed as a huge win for auto manufacturers, car dealers, and consumers, the Clean Vehicle Credit (CVC) which is part of Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), at least for now is a confusing, hot mess for everyone involved. That is a very good thing, but tying this requirement to a consumer-facing tax credit that results in few or zero EVs qualifying, is probably not the best approach.
