Last week Tesla revealed that its new Model S Plaid EV could reach a speed of near 200 MPH and reach 0 to 60 MPH in 1.99 In fact I drive a Tesla Model S 100D which is pretty damn fast – much faster than what I need or use. Excuse me if I don’t get all giddy with excitement. Our public streets are not race tracks.

Wait, you might be thinking to yourself, what about the Tesla Model S which single-handedly changed the image of EVs from glorified golf carts into fast as all heck, 300+-mile range, aspirational computers on wheels? But in the south and middle parts of the US, Tesla’s and EVs in general, can be rare sightings.

Think Global managers want to develop the car plant and launch an engineering center, perhaps alongside. I wonder how the hapless car buyers without the PhD’s in engineering are going to deal with all of this? Duh, heres our $40K volt, buy it please?
