Alternatively, may we suggest the sound of the neighborhood ice cream truck? Nonetheless, I do agree that it wastes of energy, reduces range and should NOT be mandatory. We always seem to hear that one coming from a mile away. a cyclist is much quieter, and these cars do have horns still for people what step out in front.

So much more convenient than having to take time out of my day and go out of my way (wasting more energy) to get a charge elsewhere or do battery swaps.
