Before the demo vehicle—a DAF CF 340 front loader with a Millennium XXL 40 body from Terberg HS—could be used to collect commercial waste, a conversion from standard diesel propulsion to hydrogen was required. A 45 kW fuel cell module was installed in the former engine compartment of the vehicle.

First cargo vessel operating on hydrogen to debut in Paris; commercial river operations this year

The project’s initial plan was to deploy a hydrogen push-boat in the Lyon area, but as the broader potential for hydrogen in cargo transport emerged, the demo pusher was changed to an inland cargo vessel. The Flagships project will install a hydrogen power generation system on one of the newbuilds, scheduled for delivery in September 2021.

Hydrogenics and partners win major hydrogen energy storage R&D and demo project in Europe

MAN Lion’s City 18 E articulated electric bus to begin practical testing in Barcelona and Cologne later this year

As part of its e-mobility roadmap, MAN Truck & Bus is sending a fleet of demo e-buses to customers in five European countries this year. The energy for this comes from the modular batteries with 640 kWh of installed capacity. This year, another 13 demo vehicles will be deployed in practice as part of the e-mobility roadmap.
