Honeywell UOP’s Methanol To Olefins technology selected for China coal chemical complex

has selected Honeywell’s UOP technology to convert methanol into building blocks for chemical products at an existing coal chemical complex in China. The MTO process technology has been successfully demonstrated in a semi-commercial-scale unit built by Total Petrochemicals in Feluy, Belgium.

Honeywells UOP and Total Petrochemicals Successfully Demonstrate Methanol-to-Olefins Technology to Produce Plastics

A demonstration unit built by Total Petrochemicals at its complex in Feluy, Belgium, has used UOP/Hydro MTO methanol-to-olefins technology to convert methanol to ethylene and propylene. The propylene was then successfully converted to polypropylene product. Methanol is commonly produced from natural gas and coal.
