Oil is the alternative. Are we going to burn more oil, natural gas, or (gasp) coal to produce it? We definitely need an urban charging grid if the electric car is to find a place in town, where it’s needed most. The most common methods involve burning natural gas, oil or coal to power the engines to generate electricity.
