Both the front and rear axles have no mechanical connections for the transmission of power.

If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. The fact that no journalists do their research to bring up all those connections is sad, sad.
