The high-voltage lithium-ion battery, which has its own cooling circuit, is mounted close to the trunk and rear suspension.

Porsche had unveiled the concept version of the 918 Spyder Plug-in Hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010. Fuel cell technology is running in comepetition with long-range battery electric vehicles. Meanwhile, outside the stack the electrons supply the electrical power.
