So, with a range requirement of only 30km, if i were to use Lead Acid batteries I would need to install a battery capacity of 60km, as those batteries do not like to get below 50% charge. If I were to use the Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, I would need only to build a 40km range, as these can discharge down to 20%.

The reason of this blog is however to concentrate on the electric pedicabs. While the industry is unregulated some of the lads started using electric motors (hub motors) similar to those produced by golden motor and run these pedicabs on the lead acid or gel batteries. It has been about 5 months since I posted my first blog about converting my car to electricity. Motor volts, amps, temperature will be showed on 2 inch round dials in the place of oil temp, 12V battery voltage, and fuel level. A new 'A' pillar instrument cluster will show battery pack volts, amps, and DOD. Very good prices.

So, this is only my third blog entry, and my car has been done for a month! in fact, the batteries have never been below 60% SOC except on range tests. in fact, the batteries have never been below 60% SOC except on range tests.
