The everyday driving range of the BMW i8 on a full fuel tank and with a fully charged battery is more than 500 kilometers (310 miles) in COMFORT mode. The BMW Group has developed not only the internal combustion engine and electric motor in-house but also the power electronics and the battery. Rear-mounted 3-cylinder engine.
