Electrify America has opened more than 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the US, with more than 2,200 individual DC fast chargers. Each station has between three and ten individual DC fast chargers to accommodate multiple vehicles charging at one time.

Lucid Motors announced the Lucid Air will be the fastest charging electric vehicle yet offered with the capability to charge at rates of up to 20 miles per minute. For owners charging their Lucid Air in real-world conditions on the road, that can translate into 300 miles of range in just 20 minutes of charging.

In recent testimony, Nuvve CEO Gregory Poilasne told the lawmakers that bidirectional charging can reduce the total cost of EV ownership, and that it’s essential for integrating more renewable energy into the grid. A handful of bidirectional-capable EVs are available today, and automakers are quickly implementing the technology.

As if to confirm that notion, recently a Toyota spokesman in DC was denigrating plug-in hybrids as Hymotion/A123 and Rob Lowe were making a plug-in splash in Congressman Ed Markey's global warming committee. After all, grid electricity is cleaner and cheaper than gasoline.
