The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has published new data demonstrating the correlation between the market uptake of electrically-chargeable vehicles (ECVs) and both GDP and customer incentives. Five EU member states don’t offer any incentives at all: Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta and Poland.

Greenpeace , on the other hand, argues that sales of all diesel and petrol vehicles, including hybrids, must end by 2030 to meet such a target. In Poland and China, for example, an EV would need to be driven 78,700 miles to break-even. For the U.S. to hit the 90 percent EV target, sales of all new ICE vehicles across the U.S.
