In an event combining a first-customer ceremony and a media drive, Tustin (California) Hyundai’s Dealer Principal, John Patterson, handed over the keys to Hyundai’s first mass-produced Tucson Fuel Cell crossover ( earlier post ) to Timothy Bush, the first Hyundai Fuel Cell customer, with Hyundai executives in attendance.

The event, WAJ Media Day 2021, afforded me a chance to experience some exotic and high-end cars that aren’t normally in the sights of Clean Fleet Report. We were able to travel up to 60 mph with the tachometer pegged at zero, meaning, of course, the gasoline part of the hybrid system was not running, and we were cruising on full electricity. The great-sounding 8-speaker, 315-watt Harman Kardon audio system with a subwoofer plays AM/FM/SiriusXM and includes wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
