in Sweden Data from Swedish auto industry association Mobility Sweden showed 1,789 new Tesla cars were registered in December, up from 1,645 in the same month of 2022. BEV are the industry name for Electric cars. Hybrids and plug in hybrids, while electric are not 100% battery powered. The industry calls this a ‘significant milestone’. This has been blamed on supply shortages, and Government grants worth up to £1,500 for purchases of new plug-in cars being scrapped in June.

In a pre-response to that speech, having successfully advocated for plug-in hybrids like the forthcoming Chevy Volt, we propose that the President follow that speech up with a “realistic and conservative” roadmap to halve our oil use in 10 years. We’re happy we’re well on our way with plug-in cars. He’ll start with the oil catastrophe.

Millions will plug-in their electric vehicles [EV], plug-in hybrids [PHEV] and fuel cell vehicles [FCV] at night when electricity is cheap, then plug-in during the day when energy is expensive and sell those extra electrons at a profit. Smart meters and substations will be integral.
