Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology is a bi-directional electric grid interface that allows a plug-in to take energy from the grid or put it back on the grid. Recent announcements demonstrate that electric utilities and some auto makers want to make V2G a reality. Smart meters and substations will be integral.

The true impact of electric vehicles should consider the make-up of the power grids where these cars will be used. My personal criteria for an EV is 80/80 MPH/miles range, but thats because drivers either go 80 or stopped around here. market b y the end of 2009.
