No less an auto industry titan as Ford has also made bidirectional charging a selling point of their F-150 Lightning electric truck, reportedly slated to roll off the lines this year. In case of power outage at home, the DC pins in the charger can send juice back into the house, keeping the lights on.

In the 1990s, batteries had far less capacity than they do today, and for the small community of EV users, the prospect of running out of juice and becoming stranded was very real. And the auto industry had just canceled the battery EV. At the moment, the auto industry does not have a clear interest in V2G.

A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. So is the management in Washinton DC.
