The goal of the mandate is to improve the environment by spurring the sale of vehicles with alternative powertrains thus reducing carbon emissions. —Auto Alliance. The bill would take effect 1 July 2018. Maryland is one of nine states that has adopted California’s ZEV Mandate. SB 1234 is a good step in the right direction.

For the ADEPT project, the consortium comprises CPT, the European Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium (EALABC), Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, Ford and the University of Nottingham. Vehicle electrification and in particular mild hybridization of a conventional powertrain at 48V is a rapid growth area for the automotive industry.
