Being built at a new Gigafactory in Austin Texas, first US Cybertruck deliveries are scheduled for production late in 2023, having been delayed on multiple occasions. It has now re-established it as an electrified sub-brand of GMC. A sizeable 142kWh battery pack was claimed to cover about 320km between charges.

A question about bidirectional charging was also asked. Elon Musk noted that bidirectional charging is not that useful since Powerwall is better. The service’s rollout in Texas will include $30 charging at night for customers who sign up for Tesla Electric. Fantastic progress by @elonmusk here in Austin, TX.

Finally, in a first-of-its-kind partnership in the United States, Mitsubishi announced a strategic alliance with Oregon to develop an electric car charging infrastructure in the state. If these companies are ultimately successful and can convince EV manufacturers to ditch lithuim ion, we could depend on the already robust recycling program.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. One wonders if the recent headway at MIT in building lithium ion cells using ?virus? takes time to build this new market and re-coup their investment.
