Norway, the world’s leading country in electric vehicle adoption, saw plugin EV market share in October at an impressive 89.3%, up from 79.1% Controlling for Tesla’s absence (usual at the start of a quarter), this was in fact Norway’s highest ever month for plugin share. a year ago.

Looking at the fuels breakdown, if plugins were up in December, the rest is falling quickly: HEVs had just 6% share of the market, petrol vehicles were down to just 3% share (it had 15% a year ago), while diesel had only 5%, while in the same month last year, the black fuel had 22% share.At Pl Model Sales 1 Tesla Model 3 4.232 2 VW ID.3

Petrol-only vehicles saw their lowest share in modern history, taking just 1% of the market. Finally, the Nio ET5 made its Norway debut in March, registering a healthy 41 initial units (for info on this new model, see my Sweden report ). Outlook Norway’s economy is escaping some of the worst of the fate of other European neighbours.

Norway has offered strong incentives for motorists to switch to Electric Vehicles with strong tax incentives for electric vehicles. Norway made that plan back in 2016. Whilst this year France saw YoY plugin share growth in January, both the UK and Sweden have seen January’s plugin results flat, and both Norway and Germany saw a decline. Petrols were flat YoY in January, but are also on a slide over the long term. Meanwhile, diesel-only vehicles continued their decline, reaching 4.0%

Reply ↓ ↑ report 8 Roger Smith 3:45PM (4/25/2009) Why do they even sell the Gas ver of the car in the states the Diesel ver just makes more sense it gets almost twice the mileage of the petrol ver. o well I guess they think all yanks hate diesels. I really would love to get a 120D coupe BMW u cant beat 0-60 of 7.5 and 49 mpg.
