As of now, all rail transport for Audi AG in Germany is CO 2 -free. Audi says it is the first company in Germany to organize its logistics operations by rail to be completely CO 2 -neutral. Audi has been using environmentally friendly “DBeco plus” rail transport for its cars since 2010.

Audi has put a new service-water supply center into operation at the Ingolstadt site. In this way, Audi will saves up to 500,000 cubic meters of fresh water each year. With the new service-water supply center, Audi is making more efficient use of water as a resource.

The Audi e-gas plant in the city of Werlte in Lower Saxony ( earlier post ) produces CO 2 neutral-fuel (synthetic methane from water, renewable electricity and CO 2 ); it now also contributes toward stabilizing the public power grid. The Audi A3 Sportback g‑tron with 81 kW (110 hp) of power is currently available from dealers.

Audi has put a new topcoat paint shop into operation at its plant in Ingolstadt. Air recirculation also helps to reduce CO₂‑emissions per painted car by 30%, while the cleaning of exhaust air reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by 90%.
