Following on the heels of the introduction of the second-generation A5 in June ( earlier post ), Audi has now introduced the new A5 and S5 Sportback coupé models. In a new departure, the A5 Sportback is also available as a bivalent g-tron, which customers can run on either Audi e-gas ( earlier post ), natural gas or gasoline.

Audi is presenting the Audi A6 L e-tron concept at Auto China 2012 in Beijing. Audi says that with its first e-tron technology study in the luxury class, it is showing what a locally produced New Energy Vehicle from Audi might look like. The basis for this study is the new A6 L, Audi’s bestselling model in China.

In the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and in the Le Mans 24 Hours as the season’s pinnacle event, Audi will compete with a thoroughly revised R18 e-tron quattro diesel hybrid racer in the 4-megajoule class. Volkswagen unveiled the Golf Sportwagen HyMotion hydrogen fuel cell hybrid research vehicle demonstrator yesterday at the Los Angeles Auto Show ( earlier post ). The 100 kW fuel cell system (also applied in the A7) has a system power of 100 kW. The fuel cell and battery power an electric motor adapted from the e-Golf.

Audi has unveiled the new-generation Audi A4 and A4 Avant, developed with a high priority on the reduction of CO 2 emissions.
