This was granted to Amir Ban, Dov Moran, and Oron Ogdan in November 2000. Somewhat less credibly, inventors in Malaysia and China have also claimed to be the first to come up with the thumb drive. So it’s not surprising that overlapping and competing claims surround the origin of the thumb drive. This wasn’t a rare job at the time.
