While not part of this new program, the DOE further intends to evaluate production methods on terrestrial methane hydrate deposits in Alaska.

The volume contributions for California crudes are based on oil production data obtained from the California Department of Conservation. Crude from the oil sands in Canada was headed by a carbon intensity of 24.49
