Volvo has some of the most aggressive goals when it comes to brand-wide electrification, and the new C40 Recharge is a big step in its electric charge towards zero emissions. Its official name is the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric, and it’s available as either a single motor or dual motor (the latter is called the Twin).

The most affordable BMW BEV since the iX3 is its opposite when it comes to orthodoxy and risk. That opposition includes the Lexus UX 300e, Mercedes-Benz EQA, Volvo XC40 and C40 and two of three models in the all-conquering Tesla Model Y line-up. That doesn’t make it a bad BEV, in fact unlike the i3 it might be very successful.
