As part of the culling, GM has the option to re-badge vehicles from the non-core brands, such as the Pontiac G8, Opel Insignia and Saturn Vue. The fuel engine on the Volt is used to run the generator to recharge the battery when a trip exceeds 40 miles, and it’s rage on a full tank is around 400 miles. Sure, if you need to make lots of long trips in a car, and can only afford to have one car, then probably a Tesla’s not for you. Where is affordable.
