Kia Niro EV review: It was only in 2021 that Kia introduced the Niro nameplate to Australia. But whereas the EV6 is based on a dedicated EV architecture, the Niro relies on an ICE platform to allow for the petrol engine for the hybrid model. Not cheap, but it ups the racy ambience. With our comical current petrol prices, a decent Taycan inclusion is a three-year Chargefox subscription. But we can’t escape the price – it’s over $250,000 on the road without any options picked – a serious leap over the already very impressive and more affordable 4S and RWD models.

Available here only in ($340,000 drive-away) AMG 53 trim, the EQE’s you smaller yet more affordable way into an electric Benz sedan. Not as aesthetically successful (to this reviewer’s eyes) as the larger EQS, the EQE certainly looks like the bulk of its exterior design was done in Benz’s wind tunnel. That said, 3.5

In each instance we’ve chosen the most affordable options using a single electric motor for propulsion, although in the case of the Polestar it had options fitted. None of this quartet is cheap, but all are towards the value end of the EV market. And it’s the Polestar that is most affordable, at $63,900 before on-road costs.
