Honda last week announced key targets for sales of electrified vehicles in North America, with a plan to make battery-electric and fuel cell electric vehicles (BEVs and FCEVs) to represent 100% of its vehicle sales by 2040, progressing from sales of 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2035. Honda also says it's continuing to aim to reach a goal of a 7 percent return on sales by fiscal year 2026. Honda has plans for a mid- to large-size electric vehicle to debut for sale in North America in 2025, based on a dedicated platform. An EV based on the N-ONE will go on sale in Japan in 2025, with two small EVs following in 2026.

The Civic GX was formerly produced at Honda’s East Liberty, Ohio plant and has ten years of proven performance as a natural gas powered vehicle. It is the only natural gas powered passenger car available for sale in all 50 states, and is eligible for a $4,000 federal tax credit as a qualified alternative fuel vehicle.
