In 240 miles driving around Southern California we averaged 23 mpg, but in a 100-mile run with the adaptive cruise control set at 65 mph, we averaged 31.2 This fuel economy is encouraging, but it will take a wide open road with little traffic and lots of patience to equal it. Zero-to-60 mph times were right around 5.0

Running on unleaded premium, the EPA has rated the fuel economy at 19 mpg city/25 highway/21 combined. In 386 miles driving through Southern California, aided by the start/stop (where the engine shuts off when not needed), we averaged 23.7 Using the same 8-speed automatic, the fuel economy is 22 city/28 highway/24 combined.

After cruising through Southern California I came away appreciating what $127,300 gets you, which is a lot. The 48-volt system also improves fuel economy, especially on the highway.
