Toyota to invest $1B in Grab and strengthen collaboration to accelerate development of new mobility technologies

Since August 2017, Toyota and Grab have been developing connected services for Grab utilizing driving data collected by Toyota’s TransLog data-transmission driving recorder. In March this year, it acquired Uber Technologies Inc.’s s Southeast Asian assets, and is now the partner of choice for ride-hailing in the region.

Continental launches series production of technologies for robo-taxis

Continental has held a stake in this driverless vehicle manufacturer since 2017. Development of these technologies is being conducted by a global network of in the US, Germany, China, Japan and Singapore. The EVIR system captures, transmits and records inspection, compliance and maintenance data to the operator.

Volkswagen Truck & Bus outlines roadmap for automated driving, connectivity, and alternative drive systems

The vehicle will be shipped to selected customers by the end of 2017. We plan to deliver the first nine fully electric trucks to our customers in Austria by the end of 2017 – including large supermarket chains, breweries and haulers. An LNG campaign was launched in September 2017 in cooperation with Volkswagen’s Group Logistics.
