Electrified car registrations pass 100K units in Europe for 1st time in March; total reg down 3.6%; Model 3 top EV

The biggest drops were posted by Mercedes, Renault, Peugeot, Ford and Land Rover. The market continues to be dominated by SUVs, but their growth is slowing.

Registrations of BEV, PHEV, HEV and other electric vehicles totalled 96,600 units in July—as demand increased by 29% from July 2018. Consumers bought 505,900 SUVs in July, as demand increased by 8.7%. Volkswagen Group led the SUV segment, as the German maker recorded 25.7% drop on the same period last year.
